Institutions - How does the institution take an original and positive approach to road safety?
I believe that the institution approaches road safety in a very original way. Usually, most campaigns like this show the viewer a terrible car accident, but this is more original. The setting is in a lounge, its very homely, the family are laughing, everything seems normal. The originality is also brought across by having the man pretending to drive a car, there is a juxtaposition between the nice home and the reality of the crash. There are also positive approaches, for example, I think when the family literally embrace the mans life, it delivers a positive message, the fact family is so important. Also, the image at the end at the end of the film of the happy family reinforces this positivity that the institution is clearly trying to show. This all links back to the road safety awareness, having the originality of the home setting and the positive image of the family makes this a memorable ad, so therefore, teaches us to wear a seatbelt.

Magazine Article
Double Page Spread:
For my double page spread, I am going to base it on the Music Magazine, Q.
Q are famous for bringing a fresh feel and class to the music genre. They have common double page spreads that have a unique feel, here is an example of a few..
Font:
The font in all Q magazine are usually quite small and very specific. By looking at this article, the font on the right is small, but in every new paragraph, the first letter is quite big and very sophisticated, it gives it a professional feeling, one I hope to imitate. Also, notice the large, red 'J' running through the middle of the article, from looking at this single letter at a distance, it fits in well with the genre of the magazine and also, makes it look more interesting to look at. I hope to put the letters 'ASM' in the foreground of my magazine article, but have the letters a dimmer colour, so they don't stick out as much as this single letter does. The font on the left of the page tells a different story, the quote you see is in the colour red, but it is different to the font on the right, but this makes the article even more different, it isn't the same, which is unique. Also, the 'RapRadar' logo, seems like an interesting logo to incorporate into my magazine article. Overall, the font tells a unique and different aspect of the Hip Hop music genre and also, it destroys the generic music magazines. Q provides something new for the reader to look at.

All of the articles you see above you have the same fresh look. 3 our of 4 of them have a letter in the foreground. I admire this technique because it looks more professional, and it makes different as well. The double page spread I am going to base mine upon is the Jay Z article. I chose this article because it fits the genre that the promotion video is based upon.

Research
This is our pitch for the production.
Our Artist name is ASM. We were influenced by an artist named Jake Miller, he is a rap artist.
Our Artist name is ASM. We were influenced by an artist named Jake Miller, he is a rap artist.
Below is the song that influenced us. This particular song will be playing in the background of our video.
Our target audience is the teenage population, predominately teenagers that are fans of rap music.
In the logo, there is a sense of money. We used this idea of money because rap artist in the USA tend to rap more about money and things they like to spend it on.
Practice Promotion Video:
Deadly Serious A2 Media
Studies Coursework:
First
5 seconds have a black BMW with a customized number plate. This gives the
feeling of the Hip Hop scene. It then cuts to a shot of the person getting a
text message saying ‘Time to get serious.’ This all happens before the music
starts and it immediately establishes a genre and an impression of the main
character appearing in the video. An underground rap artist, trying hard to
make it big. The general feel for the video is the main character is recording
his song whilst rapping it down the camera. There are a couple of good shots
included in the film, but bad ones, for example, the editors sped things up
unnecessarily and it made the video feel a little amateur.
To give us a feel for what it is like to produce a video, we were given a task of filming a Promotion with a list of some shots that we needed to get. So we went out and followed the prompts. We then started editing and the finished product is below.
The majority of the shots were filmed on the camera that we were given but for some of the shots, I felt that we needed another camera. So for this I used my iPad. But this hasn't worked out as well as we would have hoped. The sound hasn't come out as well as it has on the main camera and the shot looks very yellow. Not even the editing software could cancel this out. So for the real production I have decided to borrow a proper video camera.
On the other hand, there are other parts that work well in our video. Although we are not creating a Music Video, we incorporated some shots of the artist Lip Syncing to a part of the song. This has worked very well as it is difficult to make it look like that artist is actually singing.
It is important to make the viewer aware of who the artist is. So we decided to put our 360 degree shot at the beginning. This includes Alex and Shaun standing there looking authorititive and the camera circiling around them. Combine that with the music in the background that starts immediately, means that our genre should be easily identifible. I think that our Genre is easily identifiable because of the way that our "stars" dress. One is wearing a SnapBack which is typical of the Rap and Hip Hop Genre. Even if people don't recognise the genre, it should become apparent when the music starts.
Logo:
This is Professor Greens logo, we chose to design our logo based upon this. From looking at the font, you get the feel that this artist is in the Hip Hop genre, this is a style of writing you would commonly see on graffiti, so for our logo, we decided to take the idea of using a font that would resemble graffiti on a wall.
This is 'Money Maniac Records' logo, here you can see there is a clear usage of money used. From the general look of the logo, you get the feeling that it is a Hip Hop company, because people assume that money is a big part of the Hip Hop scene. We used this idea to incorporate money into our final design.
The Dollar Sign is a sign that is predominately used by rappers in the Hip Hop scene. When people see the Dollar Sign, they immediately make a link to Hip Hop. We used the symbolism of the Dollar Sign in our final logo so that people know that we are a rapper in the Hip Hop business.
Even though we don't want A$M to be a stereotypical rapper in the way he looks, the logo is a different, we want people to immediately make a link to the fact that he is a rapper, and instead of doing that with the clothes he wears, we decided to use it with the logo. To any company, the logo is generally something that sells their product, and its the thing that people see all the time, so to make sure we completely sold our product to the public, we design a logo that would appeal to the wider audience.
